Green Tea Leaves
Green tea is made from Camellia sinensis leaves that have undergone minimal oxidation during processing. Is any other food or drink reported to have as many health benefits as green tea? Today, scientific research in both Asia and the west is providing hard evidence for the health benefits long associated with drinking green tea.
.) Green tea burns fats : Epigallocatechin gallate stimulates the central nervous system and causes fat to be released into the blood stream for the body to use as fuel. This process of fat being used for energy is called”thermogenesis” . It provides extra energy , sheds excess water and also helps in burn body fats .
.) Green tea lowers cholesterol level: Two leaves green tea has a active ingredints called catenin, catenin prevents the absorption of the cholesterol in the intestines , it lowers low density lipoprotin(LDL) and raise high density lipoprotin (HDL) and lower total cholesterol.
.) Green Tea lowers blood sugar level: When starch (carbohydrate) is consumed it requires enzyme amylase to break it down into simple sugar that can be absorbed in the blood stream. Two leaves green tea polyphenols releases amylase by 87%.
.) Green tea lowers the risk of heart diseases : Heart attacks are caused due to internal blood clots. Two leaves green tea inhibits thromboxane A2 formation. Thromboxane increases the risk of heart diseases. Two leaves green tea also inhibits another clotting agent callled platelet activating factor (PAF)
.) Green tea helps in cancer prevention: Free radicals occur naturally in the body , but environemental toxins (including ultraviolet rays from the sun, radiation, cigarette smoke, and air pollution) also give rise to these damaging particles. Causing various disesase like cancer and heart attacks. Antioxidants such as polyphenols in Two green tea can neutralize free radicals and may reduce or even help prevent cancer.
.) Green tea is anti ageing: Many scientists believe that free radicals contribute to the aging process as well as the development of a number of health problems. Polyphenols prsent in green tea helps in anti ageing. Makes your skin looks younger and better.
.) Green tea prevents tooth decay: More than 300 species of bacteria adhere to tooth surfaces. They produces acid which lead to cavities . Green tea contain catechines, flouride. It has been prved to inhbit the growth of bacteria. The reduction of the bacterial cell membrane fluidity leads to the anti-plaque activity.
.) Blocks tumour growth : EGCG in fides green tea help in blocking or slowing the growth of tumour.
